I didn’t even see it. Amazing. I am usually good at these things. It wasn’t until I went back and re-read my last post that I realized that what I have been going through this week was it: the third shoe, the third thing going wrong.
As you may know, Ludo was sick a few weeks back. Terribly ill and had stopped eating or drinking. Well I will start where I left off: Saturday morning:
- Saturday a.m: Ludo is doing better and has started to drink some water
- Saturday p.m: Ludo is active and drinking on his own. He holds down all food for 24 hours.
- Sunday p.m: Ludo is drinking water on his own and has held down rice and chicken for 48 hours and a little kibble for 12 hours.
- Monday early p.m: Praise the Lord! Ludo has held down all food for at least 36 hours. He is drinking again and very playful.
- Monday mid p.m: We take Ludo on a walk to rejuvenate his spirits after a week of sickness.
- Monday late p.m: After returning from the walk, we notice something distressing: a limp in Ludo’s front right leg.
- Tuesday p.m: I place a call to the vet after Ludo’s limp has not gotten better. Vet recommends watching it for 24 more hours.
- Thursday a.m: another call to the vet confirms my suspicion: it is not normal for a dog to limp for three days without getting better. A visit is in order
- Friday afternoon: Vet dispenses medication after a quick talk about why I cannot afford the $500 X-Rays (see last post for explanation) and informs me that if it is not better if seven days I must get X-Rays done.
- Sunday p.m: The limp is improving and the medication seems to help with the pain.
This whole time, I never considered that this was my “third bad thing.” I always knew bad things came in threes. I just never thought that two out of three would have to deal with Ludo. Poor fella, he has had a rough month…
