It didn’t work out. That lovely old style country house? We didn’t get it. The landlord gave the house to a family moving up from Lake Tahoe. When he spoke to me he told me that he wasn’t even sure he had made the right decision, but nevertheless, it was the decision he made.

So, after some searching, we found a townhouse that we sort of like. It isn’t ideal, and the yard is very small and not very kind to Ludo, but it is cheap and they allow large dogs.

We find out tomorrow if we get the townhouse. Our landlords provided great references, employment checked out and we can afford the deposits. The only down side? Some bad credit due to a particular family member taking advantage of stupid generosity and access to personal information.
