There is much about the Salvation Army that I dislike. They tend to be evangelical, which I tend not to agree with. They tend to be quite exclusionary, which I find very unChrist-like. They tend to ring terribly annoying bells for 1/12 of the year everywhere I go which I find excruciating.
But there are now two people that I dislike more than the entire Salvation Army. Even if the entire SA’s squadron of bell ringers were in my house right now ringing their bells, I would still dislike these two men more than all of the bell ringers combined.
I hate, HATE, the two men that shot and killed Salvation Army Major Phillip Wise on Christmas Eve. Major Wise had driven two bell ringers home and returned to the Salvation Army community center with his 4, 6, and 8 year old children. It was as he was walking in that two gunmen approached him and shot him dead right in front of these young kids.
Police are suggesting this was a robbery attempt.
I don’t care what the motive is. They killed a father in front of his children on Christmas Eve. What kind of sick fucks can live with themselves after doing such a disgusting, horrendous thing? There were children there. How merry do you think any Christmas will ever be for these kids?
The police are asking that this men come forward and turn themselves in. I have to actively work to keep from wishing for something much worse. I hope whatever their motive was, it was worth it.
This is the first I've seen of this. It is very disturbing !
Where did this happen? I want so much for these men to be caught – but not necessarily by the police. They deserve much worse than prison.
