Ludo and I went to the vet today. For the past year he has had chronic ear infections and so, the other day, when he started to shake his head at me and rub his ears on the carpet I called the vet.

We go in and he was – surprisingly – well behaved. I think it was sort of a sensory overload for him. So many new people and smells! And oh, the attention!

We weighed him and well…see the thing is – Ludo has been on a diet for about 8 months. He is kind of a fatty. I love him, I do. And I would love him if he weighed 200 lbs. Which is good, because every vet visit brings his chubby butt closer. He now weights 102lbs. Awesome. His ideal weight is 80-85lbs.

But it wasn’t all bad news. Turns out, we finally determined the underlying cause to the infections and it can be cured with about a week’s worth of antibiotics. Plus Ludo was very well behaved until they started trying to shove stuff down his ears. He didn’t care for that much and decided it was more appropriate to lick the vet tech into submission.

He is peacefully ignoring me now. But he is healthy and hale and that is all that matters today.
