There is this idea out there that is used to explain some pretty complex scientific theories. Now, I am no scientist so I am not going to get into all of the quantum mechanics and whatnot. But, basically the issue at hand is that quantum physics show that observations cannot be predicted absolutely. Instead, there is a wide range of possible observations for each given scenario. This leads to the many worlds concept.
The many words concept says, in a nutshell, that there are many universes (the multiverse) and in throughout the multiverse every possible outcome is played out. For instance, there is a world out there where I am a Saudi peasant and one where I am Bill Gates daughter. There is one where computers were never invented, and you therefore never read this. There is a world where we operate under one totalitarian government and one where there is no government. There is a world where peace reigns freely and a world constantly at war.
I have always wondered, as a part of my faith, whether or not there were other worlds. Are we truly the only life out there? Nothing on Earth is wasted. Every plant, every animal, every organism has a purpose. Why, then, does there seem to be so much wasted in the universe? All these planets, suns etc and no other life? Truly? It seems rather contradictory compared to how He created our home.
But how completely awesome – in the true sense of the word – to think that there could be another you! One that knows nothing of this you and one that leads a completely different life. One where ever possibility is played out. Every other road is taken.

Would this “opposite” me be a priest?
Or
Would you be a heathan atheist?
It could be fun to ponder such ideas :-)

There would be many. I am sure that exists in one such world, Mac. Crazy to think about. I wonder if they would know we existed? Maybe there is one that is so advanced – so intelligent – that they know of the other worlds.

Maybe they know of us and can affect us?
That would almost make them.,. Gods!

I think if we omit the quantum mechanics, we wouldn’t be far fetched to think that life exists throughout this one Universe– let alone a Multiverse.
Billions upon billions of planets . . . and chemistry seems to work the same throughout this universe.
What about a universe where the physics are totally different? Some think gravity is a force that is bleeding into our universe from another dimension or something.
You left us with yet another thought provoking post, Lion.
